Sometimes you just need to transport a kayak a small distance--either home from the store or to a close-by river. Enter the Malone standard kayak kit, which includes everything you need to haul a lightweight kayak on occasional short trips.

The kit's pair of 12-inch EVA foam blocks are ideal for short trips.

The kayak kit comes with two universal-fit, 12-inch, non-skid laminate foam blocks to cushion the kayak in place, along with a 15-foot over-hull strap and bow and stern S-hook tie-downs. The blocks are built with V-shaped cutouts, ensuring a great fit for every kayak. The tie-downs, meanwhile, fit to the front and rear of your vehicle. (The kit also works with round, square, or factory oval cross rails.) Finally, the kit comes with a carrying case for easy storage.

Note: Malone recommends that users not put the 12-inch blocks directly on the rooftop, as the concentrated weight of the kayak may dent the roof.
