The Thule 847 Outrigger II Kayak Load Assist for Roof Rack Mount Carrier is an accessory that dramatically improves the ease of the side loading of kayaks or canoes. The Outrigger II works with Thule square bar rack systems, telescoping from within one of the rack's two load bars to extend the leverage of roof racks to the side as an aid to raise a boat to an existing pair of watercraft saddles. Loading Assistance Via Retractable Side Arm

Perfect for transporting a kayak or canoe by yourself, the Thule 847 Outrigger II offers an innovative Lift Assist feature that makes it easy for one person to load and unload a kayak from a roof rack. A retractable arm fits inside your Thule load bars and provides pivot point for loading boats. Lift one end of the boat onto the extension bar, lift the other end onto the canoe or kayak carrier, and then easily reposition the first end onto the canoe or kayak carrier.

Surface patches are Hypalon in dark or light gray, royal blue, red, and Avon gray. Large patches are strong enough to be used as rowing frame tie-downs.
