The 579xt is built with padded cradles that provide maximum stability for the canoe, and added protection for the gunwhales. Constructed of impact-resistant, long-lasting engineered resin, this carrier is both lightweight, and extremely durable. The 579xt has a quick and easy mounting design, and comes with a pair of ratcheting tie downs, as well as two straps and buckle protectors. User's should note that this system does not come with its own locking mechanism, is only mounts to Thule square bars.
